H.O.G.
Mileage Program
The H.O.G.®
Mileage Program is beautiful in it's simplicity: You ride,
and we'll reward you. We'll even give you a pin and patch
just for signing up. After that, additional pins, patches
and motorcycle medallions will be awarded at various mileage
intervals.
Of course ther
are a few rule you'll have to follow:
-
Only active
H.O.G. members may participate.
-
If you have
more then one Harley® you have to enroll each one, and
only the mileage logged after you enrol will
count.
-
You may
participate as a rider, passenger or both - just me sure
to fill out a form for each.
-
Your
enrolment form and award submissions must be
officially endorsed by an authorised H-D dealer.
So what are you
waiting for? Get out and start riding - but not before you
get yourself enrolled in the H.O.G. Mileage Program!

Q. I have an idea for a C.H.O.G ride
or event, who should I pass my suggestion to?
A. If you have a suggestion for
an event or ride, the best person to pass your suggestion to is the
Activities Officer and/or the Head Road Captain. He/She/They may even ask you to assist in organising
the event/ride. The more information you can pass on with your
suggestion, the better chance it has of becoming an event on the
Chapter calendar.

Q. I have International H.O.G
membership, does that make me a Chapter member?
A. No. To become a chapter member
you will need to be an International H.O.G member first. If you are
not a chapter member you can still participate in some of the chapter
events/activities. There are three levels of events;
-
Open - Events open
to all Chapter and International H.O.G members and invited
guests,
-
Closed - Events open
to Chapter members and one guest per member previously advised
and approved by the Director, and
-
Member - Events open
to Chapter members only.

Q. I can't make it
every Saturday, will this effect my membership?
A. Not at all. We
all have lives outside of H.O.G and these should come first. Make it
out when you can to socialise, ride and have fun.

Q.
I'm nervous about coming along for the first time, what's the
easiest way to start meeting members?
A. It can't be
easier! Just approach ANYONE wearing a H.O.G. patched vest or blue
C.H.O.G. T-Shirt and say G'day. There is also an information &
merchandise desk set up at the shop each Saturday manned by a couple
of members. If that is still a daunting
prospect, speak to one of the shop staff and they will introduce you
to a member. We are more then happy to tell you more about C.H.O.G.
and H.O.G. and introduce you to other members.
Q. Can I bring my family
along?
A. C.H.O.G. aims
to be a social environment for friends AND family. Bring your
partner on the back of the bike .. OR .. If you can't fit an entire
family on the bike, your partner can always drive in with the kids.

Q.
My wife / girlfriend would like to join but doesn't own a Harley,
what can we do?
A. You can always
get your wife / girlfriend to join as an associate member. They can
actively participate in all C.H.O.G. and H.O.G. events as well as
things like "H.O.G. Miles". Don't forget to sign them up for "Ladies
of Harley" (L.O.H.) too.
Canberra Chapter, until
recently, have been the only chapter to actively encourage the
female members to join in on L.O.H. rides by simply jumping in the
car and joining the adventure. L.O.H. Canberra will organise rides
(which all C.H.O.G. members can participate in) and encourage
maximum attendance by allowing members to bring their car if they
aren't licensed to ride.

Q. How often
does C.H.O.G. meet and where?
A. There are four
times that C.H.O.G. meet, they are:
-
Weekly Social
Meets - C.H.O.G. meet every Saturday at Robbo's. These are
not compulsory meetings but a chance for members to come
together regularly whether it be to chat over a coffee, enjoy
some lunch at the weekly BBQ or head off on a ride. The main
point is to have fun. If you can't make it every Saturday that
is not a problem, just come along when you can.
-
Monthly General
Meeting - On the first Thursday of each month, C.H.O.G. hold
their monthly meeting a the Eastlakes club. This is a chance for
members to find out what will happen and where the club is
headed over the next month. Also enjoy a meal and drink at the
club before or after the meeting. The meeting kicks off at 7pm,
be there early if you'd like to enjoy a meal before hand.
-
Rides and Events
- Keep an eye on the events calendar for timings and locations
for coming C.H.O.G. events. The focus of activities is to "Ride
and Have Fun". Events and Rides will also be posted on the
notice board in the cafe at Robbo's.
-
Whenever we can
- There is nothing stopping members from getting together and
riding and socialising whenever they can. (NB Any ride not
advertised or approved by the appropriate committee members is
not a C.H.O.G. sanctioned ride).
